Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy – Chainguide Mallorca Terms & Conditions

All tours operated by Chainguide (“the Company”, “us”, “our”, “we”) are sold to the client (“the Client”,“you”) subject to the following conditions:

1. Booking and confirmation

To secure your booking, please confirm availability per email and pay a 50% non-refundable down payment per person.  After booking is completed and deposit is received, a contract shall be signed on the day of the tour between you and the Company. If you are booking a tour 1 week or less before the start date of your tour, the full balance is payable upon booking. Payments can be done via bank transfer or TransferWise. You do not need a TransferWise account to pay by TransferWise.co.uk.

2. Payment of balance

On the day of your tour we ask you to pay the remaining amount, a deposit and a valid passport. If you are booking a tour 1 week or less before the start date of your tour, the full tour price is payable upon booking. In that case, deposit can be paid cash on the day of the tour. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation should you fail to pay the outstanding balance by the agreed date.

3. Cancellation by you

Cancellation notice is required in writing and deposit is not refunded. To transfer to another tour or another model of bike, you must notify us at least 30 days prior to tour date. The Company reserves the right to refuse any request to transfer to another tour.

4. Cancellation by us

The Company will only cancel your reservation if forced to do so by circumstances beyond our control.  For example by riot, war, extreme weather conditions, fire or other natural disaster, or because the minimum number needed to operate one of our tours has not been met 2 weeks before departure. The minimum is 4 people per tour.

In these circumstances you will first be offered an alternative date.  If this is not acceptable the Company will pay a full refund of the cost of the tour. We will not be liable for any other expenses you may have incurred as a result of your booking, for example, travel arrangements.

5. Your responsibilities

You accept that mountain biking can be a hazardous activity and may involve discomfort.  Clients make their own decisions regarding their abilities, ride accordingly and ride entirely at their own risk. The Company cannot be held liable for client safety whilst riding. You are solely responsible for your valuables while you are on a tour or in our shop. You should not leave anything of value unattended, as it is tempting theft. Clients are required to state at the time of booking if they are aware of any medical conditions that could put their health at risk whilst Mountain Biking.  You must be physically fit enough to participate in the tour you have chosen.  If you have to drop out of a ride, we will not be responsible for any additional costs incurred.  Whilst out on rides you must abide by the authority of your guide. We reserve the right to remove any person from the holiday if their behaviour is deemed to be detrimental to the safety and enjoyment of other clients.  Under these circumstances no refund will be paid and we will not be responsible for additional cost or loss on your side.

6. Our responsibilities

We will provide a tour as described in the Company website. Be aware that due to unforeseen circumstances parts of the tour such as suggested route details or accommodation details may vary slightly from those described.  In these situations, the overall quality and experience of the trip will be maintained.

The Company accepts no responsibility for loss or damage arising from failure to carry out the contract, or in the process of carrying out the contract, as a result of a) the actions of the Client or Clients b) unforeseen or unusual events beyond the control of the Company, or c) the theft of or damage to bicycles or other equipment or injury to the client, whether this be whilst cycling, in transit or at any other time during the tour.

7. Cycle Hire

  1. a) All hired cycles remain the property of the Company and shall not be sold, hired or loaned out by the Client. b) The Client acknowledges that the cycle hired is in good condition and undertakes to return the cycle and any accessories in that same condition, or to make a payment to the Company, immediately on demand, sufficient to return the cycle to that condition. c) The Company shall not be liable for any damage or loss arising from the Clients use of the equipment. The Client shall indemnify the Company against any claim howsoever arising as a result of the Client’s use of the cycle during the period of hire. d) In the event that the cycle and/or any accessories are lost or stolen the Client shall indemnify the Company for the costs of replacing those items. Should the equipment subsequently be returned in a satisfactory condition these moneys will be repaid. e) The Client will ensure that the cycle is adequately secured when not in use and will immediately notify the Company or one of it’s representatives in the event of any theft, loss, breakdown or other occurrence relating to thecycle or associated accessories. f) All moneys due in relation to the hire of cycles will be added to the tour cost and will be payable in accordance with the Company’s booking conditions.

8. Insurance

We strongly recommend that you are adequately covered by your own travel insurance policy before joining one of our tours. Your policy or policies should cover you for the risks associated with mountain biking, your baggage, your bicycle and any cancellation made by you.

9. Transportation

If transportation is needed, you will be notified in advance. The cost will be between €10,- to €15,- per person/bike per way.

  1. Provision of Information. Any information provided by the Company or it’s representatives is done so in good faith but without any liability on the part of the Company or it’s representatives.

11. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with your experience at Chainguide or our service, please bring it to our attention as soon as possible so that action can be taken. If you feel the problem was not resolved you must inform us in writing within 14 days and we will respond within 14 days and attempt to resolve the matter to the satisfaction of both parties.
